Violet Days Interview

Listen to Violet days to be put into a violet daze.

On April 7th, Molly had the pleasure of photographing Violet Days, an upbeat pop singer, who puts on a great concert.

Not only did we get to take great pictures of her, but we got to ask her a couple questions too!

Give me your background! Where are you from, how did you start?

I’m from a small town toward the north of Sweden. I discovered songwriting and wrote my first song in English when I was 13 and instantly fell in love with it. I started out singing in different bands until I moved to Stockholm and found my people there and formed Violet Days.

Where do you find your inspiration for your music?

Everywhere. Movies, people, books. Anything that makes me feel something.

Is this your first tour? Are you enjoying being out on the road with The Midnight?

Yes, it’s my first tour. We’re having such a great time! It’s amazing to get to be on a “road trip” and also play shows almost every night. It’s the best of both worlds, and the guys in The Midnight are such great people.

What has your experience with the industry been like so far?

It’s been a ride. I’ve learned that if you’re a girl you really have to stand up for yourself and learn not to take any sh*t. There’s a lot of people that will try to bring you down but also a lot of passionate and nice people working super hard. I’ve learned where the good energy is and I’m only surrounding myself with people giving me that.

Your most popular song on Spotify is “Addicted”, what do you think has made it a fan favorite?

It’s always hard to know what makes a song big, especially when Spotify has so much power and can decide what songs make it to the big playlists, etc. I think people probably like that it’s a good uptempo song that you can party to! :)
